Mission Statement
River Falls Community Education is committed to the unique partnership that exists between the school district and the community it serves. A community school is a place used freely and informally for all aspects of learning, maximizing the use of publicly owned facilities. Community Education provides lifelong opportunities for citizens to affect the quality of life within the community by sharing their knowledge, skills and interest with one another, thus promoting dignity, compassion and pride. A community school is a place of learning for all.
How We Are Funded
Community Education is funded through Fund 80, which is made up of levied tax dollars. These funds can only be used for Community Programs and not for direct school district expenses such as teacher salaries or text books. The School District of River Falls Community Education is a non-profit organization.
Senior Tax Exchange Program
The School District of River Falls Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP) provides an opportunity for social security eligible senior citizens age 62 or older to work in the schools in exchange for $500 in compensation to go towards their property taxes. For more information please call Tara Albores at 715-425-1819, visit the STEP webpage, or download the STEP program information document. If interested please download the application form.

Register Early
Many session fill quickly. Sessions will be cancelled one week prior to the start date if sufficient enrollment is not received. Help us avoid the disappointment of class cancellations by registering early.
Class Confirmations
When you register online, you will receive an email confirmation. For all other registration methods, Community Education does not send class confirmations. Assume you are in the class and that it will be held at the time and place indicated. We will contact you by mail or phone if there is a change. Please list a daytime phone number so we can reach you if a class is cancelled. Community Education assumes no responsibility for reaching those who do not provide a daytime telephone number.
Refunds
Classes: Refunds will only be made if requested at least 5 business days before the class begins, or before the noted registration deadline—if less than 5 business days then refund will be made minus any unrecoverable costs. Trips: No refunds will be given after the noted registration deadlines unless you find someone else to take your place. You will be notified via phone or email if your class has been cancelled and all registration fees will be refunded to you.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel a registration, you must notify us at 715-425-1830, ext. 1125 at least 5 business days before the class begins. We will refund the class fee minus a $5.00 processing fee. Full refunds will be issued for classes that are cancelled by Community Education. Refunds will not be given within 5 business days of the start date or after the class has started. This policy is necessary for us to provide the best service to our customers. We purchase supplies and commit to our instructors based on our enrollment.
Inclement Weather
Unless you are notified of a cancellation, plan on attending. In case of bad weather, visit our website, www.rflearns.org to get up-to-date information. Classes are not held when the schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Written requests not to publish photos of specific students are honored.
Location Conflicts
Occasional conflicts to classroom facilities may arise, requiring us to move to another area or to schedule a make-up session. When Community Education becomes aware of a potential conflict, participants will be notified.
