The School District of River Falls believes that all children are entitled to an education aligned to their particular needs.  While all students have personal strengths, some have abilities and talents that go beyond the core curriculum.  These students often require access to personalized, differentiated, or advanced curriculum in order to realize their full potential.  All children learn and experience success given time and opportunity, but the degree to which academic content standards are met and the time it takes to reach the standards will vary from student to student.  The School District of River Falls believe that all students, including advanced learners should be challenged and supported with personalized learning opportunity to reach their full potential.

 

Our district goals are to:

  • Build capacity to advocate for our academically talented students through collaborative relationships between community, school, and family.

  • Ensure personalized learning services are provided for underachieving or twice exceptional gifted learners.

  • Identify opportunities and resources for all students

  • Develop a Differentiated Education Plan (DEP) when appropriate for identified students through a team process.  Each plan will be reviewed annually and student progress monitored.

  • Identify increased academic achievement through differentiated instruction, compacted curriculum, flexible student grouping, personalized learning, and academic programming.

  • Perform ongoing program evaluation at the district level
