Social Studies
We have concluded our extensive study of Canada and have moved south to Latin America. For the remainder of the year, we will be studying various regions of Latin America. First, in December and January, we will look generally at Latin America's geography and history. We will complete a comparison chart of the early Indian civilizations, learn about the coming of Europeans to this area, and the effects it had on this region. Next we will study four regions of Latin America for roughly a month each - Mexico (February), Central America (March), West Indies (April) and South America (May). The focus on each of these countries or groups of countries will be geography, history and cultures.
