Welcome to the Rocky Branch Early Childhood Program
I have been teaching three and four year-olds at Rocky Branch since 1992, and am celebrating my 3rd decade of working with preschool-age children who demonstrate a wide range of developmental abilities.
Before moving to River Falls, I lived in Boston, MA where I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northeastern University. For 14 years, I taught three to five year-olds with special needs in the Brookline and Newton, Massachusetts school districts.
Supporting children with their first school experience, and seeing tremendous achievements throughout the year are what I find especially rewarding. With a play-based curriculum, the children with and without special needs learn how to interact, communicate, move, problem solve, and become independent.
Given the opportunity to play and learn together, the children develop friendships with others of diverse abilities. This contributes to a positive attitude and lifelong appreciation of differences.
