I am Rita Humbert, Principal at Westside Elementary School. I am delighted to be a part of Westside School for a 2nd year. My educational philosophy and Westside’s tradition for excellence in education matches up nicely.
Westside Elementary is a neighborhood school that serves approximately 425 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are committed to providing opportunities that will personalize each child’s learning so they can excel in their world in the future. We are ready to serve the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of all students who attend Westside.
Students are expected to act respectfully and to behave properly. They are also expected to attend school on a regular basis. Our students’ experiences will be exciting, challenging and fun. Our staff is of the highest quality as they demonstrate a tremendous commitment and dedication to working with each child. The Westside School staff has, on average, 22 years of experience working in an educational setting.
Parents play an essential role in the education of their child and we honor and support the home/school partnership. There are many ways parents can be involved in and support a child’s school and a child’s academic progress. Here are a few ideas: check out the PTO (Parent/Teacher Organization), volunteer your time and talents, save your Campbell soup labels, watch for matching donations from your employer, offer your expertise, provide a good study environment at home, assist but don’t enable your child with the struggles they will have with friends and homework.
Thanks for checking out the school website. We will continue to update the website so that it will assist parents and families in learning more about our school and it will help keep families informed about all the good things happening at Westside. Please check it often and better yet, stop by for a visit; we love to meet people in person!
