We are excited to launch our first year of One Book One School, a national program that brings families and schools together through shared reading. This fall, all of Greenwood will be reading Fenway and Hattie by Victoria J. Coe. Let's build a community of readers!
Kickoff date: November 3 right after conferences at 7:45 pm! Join our LIVE read aloud with Mrs. Skappel and special guest Superintendent Bell! Click the link to the right to join the fun! https://meet.google.com/jyo-fsbe-rha
What's included: Each family will receive their own copy of the book to keep as well as a bookmark and calendar with questions to think about for each chapter! We will discuss the questions during announcements as well!
Throughout the month, Greenwood teachers will share videos of themselves reading chapters so you can follow along and read together at home. We hope you enjoy “Fenway and Hattie” and treasure the time reading with your student! We would love to see photos of you reading Fenway and Hattie with your family. Meet Fenway… a little dog with a GIANT personality! From the publisher Fenway is an excitable and endlessly energetic Jack Russell terrier. He lives in the city with Food Lady, Fetch Man, and—of course—his beloved short human and best-friend-in-the-world, Hattie.
But when his family moves to the suburbs, Fenway faces a world of changes. He’s pretty pleased with the huge Dog Park behind his new home, but he’s not so happy about the Evil Squirrels that taunt him from the trees, the super-slippery Wicked Floor in the Eating Room, and the changes that have come over Hattie lately. Rather than playing with Fenway, she seems more interested in her new short human friend and learning to play baseball. His friends in the Dog Park next door say Hattie is outgrowing him, but that can’t be right. And he’s going to prove it!
