River Falls 4 Children (RF4C) is an accessible, community-based early learning program for four-year-old children who reside within the School District of River Falls. Students in this program are enrolled in the School District of River Falls 4-year-old kindergarten program, but are taught in a local community preschool/childcare location.
This approach, known as the community-collaborative model, builds on existing resources in our community. With district partnership, parents are guaranteed that their child’s classroom has a highly qualified, DPI-licensed teacher and implements a consistent curriculum framework, incorporating the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. In addition, the centers offer expanded family outreach activities, have a strong focus on parent-school communication, and certain sites will offer childcare before or after 4K (wrap-around care).
Most child care programs have limited spots available and have a first come-first serve policy, so parents needing child care should contact sites directly as soon as possible.
Who Can Participate?
Any child who will be four years old by September 1 of the given school year can participate in this one-year program.
Non-residents: By state law, four-year-olds who reside outside of the district can apply for Open Enrollment if their resident district offers 4K. The open enrollment period is typically the beginning of February through the end of April. Visit our open enrollment page for more information.
